- Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) intends
to sale standing teak trees with a total volume of 10,800.420 cubic meters grown at Mtibwa and Longuza Forest
Plantations in Turiani, Morogoro Region and Muheza, Tanga Region
respectively. The standing teak
trees which are grouped into felling couples will be sold through Private
Agreement on 21st March, 2017 at 10.30 AM at National College
of Tourism-BUSTANI located at junction of Shaabani Robert Street/Samora
Avenue, Dar es Salaam. The negotiation will be carried out in accordance
with the Private Agreement as stated under regulation 31(iii) in the Forest
Regulation, 2004. The standing teak trees are sold as on “as is where is” basis
and the selling entity shall have no further liability after the sales.

Interested firms/Individuals must submit his/her
wishes and other information in a closed envelope indicating plantation name,
compartment name, plot number and volume per plot as shown in the table below.
Also, interested party has to submit copies of registration for sawmill, trade
of forest products, business license and the Tax Identification Number (TIN).

After submitting the request, the wishing buyer
will be required to participate in the selling negotiation with TFS. If the two
parties agree on the price per cubic meter, the buyer will be required to make
payments as stipulated in paragraph 8
of this Advert. After the payments, the buyer will sign a selling contract with
TFS to grant a buyer a permit to harvest the standing teak trees.

Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency invites
interested buyers to submit the needful documents to make them eligible for the
negotiation. Selections where to harvest should be done on the following plot
numbers;

Any successful buyer should note that it is not
allowed to export the logs as per regulation 50 (1) of the Forest Regulations
of 2004. Exportation of forest products shall be in form of processed Timber as
per Government Notice No. 69 of 2006.

Interested buyers may visit the site (felling
plots/couples) at Mtibwa and Longuza Forest Plantations from 09:00 hrs to 15:00
hrs Monday to Friday except on public holidays. The Plantation Manager will
provide additional information on site including harvesting conditions.
- Floor (Minimum
base) price per cubic meter is shown in Table 1 & 2 above to which VAT,
CESS and LMDA are included.
8.
The successful buyer shall pay 25% of the total
value, which is non-refundable upon any default three days (3) after signing
the negotiation contract and the remaining 75% shall be paid within two months.
Payments should be made to Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency through
respective Forest Plantation’s accounts as follows:

9.
The buyer
shall submit Bank Pay- in –slip as evidence of the deposited amount not later
than three days after payment.
10. The successful buyer is obliged to clear fell and remove the volume of
trees awarded within two month after payment of the total value.
12. Deadline for
submission of request is on 21st March 2017 before 10:00 AM. Late
submissions will not be honoured.
